While we work on our backlog of film, we thought it would be interesting to post a few photographs from another era. These negatives are part of a collection that Marks inherited and date from around the late 1800’s to approximately the 1930’s. The negatives were in bad condition as the result of a house fire. A lot of years went into the cleaning process of the negatives and the prints were printed in our darkroom. Apart from cleaning they were printed as they were so it goes to show how long a “film negative” will last. Aside from the usual nicks and scrapes, these negatives will be around for at least another 100 years. How’s that for “archival”? The resulting photographs are of family members and their life style.
We will be sharing some more of our family history with you in days to come and hope that you will enjoy this peek into the past.
Thanks for viewing.
Enjoy the week and feedback is always appreciated.
