Today’s image was taken at Tiger Bay. Marks and I had backpacked our equipment into the swampy surroundings. There had been quite a bit of rainfall during the week so the ground was very wet. This area, to the East of the small lake I’ll be posting later on in the week, was no exception. The musky smell of rattlesnake was in the air, as is so often the case in these areas.
It’s always amazing to me to see the survival of plants and trees in these swampy areas. To give you an idea, the water in this particular swamp was about a foot deep (30 cm).
