To all of you who saw a spider in yesterday’s brain teaser…….”well done”. That’s what both of us saw. But there’s a little catch to this which would’ve resulted in that illusion. So without further ado, here’s the answer.
This was taken at Tiger Bay. The water in the swamp was a few inches deep and calm so the reflections of the tangled growth, in particular the (spider) tree in the center captivated me. The tangled mess of mystical Florida woods struggling to survive in the wet swamp always amaze me with their beauty.
When this print was laid down to dry after coming out of the washer, Marks rotated it 90 degrees which created the “mystery brain teaser” from yesterday. Both of us immediately saw a huge creepy spider in the center.
Taken with the Mamiya 645 Pro TL loaded with Ilford HP5, 80 mm Mamiya Sekor 1:2.8 lens using #25 Red Filter. Developed and printed in our darkroom. Toning effects were achieved using a partial bleach back, thereafter a combination of Sepia and Selenium toners. This was scanned from the silver gelatin print.
Enjoy the weekend. 🙂
