We just finished scanning some of the darkroom prints that we worked on yesterday. We have been working hard to try and find the tones that set our work apart from the black and white prints while still maintaining a monochromatic look. Have a look at the sneak peek. This was taken by me (Joey) in Bulow Woods in a dried up swamp. The print was given a quick toning in Selenium to lock in the D-max, thereafter bleached back just to knock down the highlighted areas and toned in Sepia which works on those highlighted areas. This gives the print a softer tone while still maintaining the sharpness.
Scanned from the Silver Gelatin print, here’s a close up of some wonderful roots in a dried up swamp bed. Nature truly is amazing and the wonders to be found are all around us.
Have a beautiful day everyone. Hope you enjoy this one.
