The mystical little gnome umbrella from yesterday’s post was precariously perched on top of this mound of tenuous tentacle like roots which I’m posting today. It truly is amazing to see the way this tree is attempting to survive, it’s roots grabbing for hold everywhere to stop it from falling over. The resulting caves providing shelter for smaller animals and snakes. Another way that nature provides beautifully for all.
Once again this was scanned from the silver gelatin print which was selenium toned first to establish maximum blacks, we then bleached it to knock down the highlights and lastly toned it in sepia to give us the rich tones. Hubby Marks is responsible for this wonderful darkroom work.
Taken with the Mamiya 645 Pro TL, 80 mm Mamiya Sekor 1:2.8 lens, film was Ilford HP5 @ 200 developed in Xtol 1:1.
