It’s shaping up to be a beauty of a day in Central Florida. We’re packed and ready to set off on another photographic excursion. We’re hoping to catch the tail end of a “feed”. That’s when the animals are out and actively feeding.
We have developed the negatives from the last four rolls of film and there appear to be some good ones among those. Marks is excited about the results that he got with his Mamiya C330 Professional. We will share them with you once we get them printed as we don’t normally scan negatives. We prefer to scan the silver gelatin print, and we will need a bit more time to get that done.
We’re leaving you with the “Stump” in Sugar Mill Gardens. Marks has photographed this over the years and one of those prints is framed and hanging in our gallery. It’s lovely to see how it’s changed over the years.
Taken with the Mamiya 645 Pro, by Marks with a 150 mm Mamiya Sekor 1:3.5 lens using Ilford HP5 @ 200 developed in our darkroom in D76 1:1. Scanned from the silver gelatin print.
Enjoy the day everyone.
Definitely one of those to ooooh and ahhhhh about! I do like this one!
Thanks sis. You’re one of our faithful followers who always writes something really nice. We appreciate you. We’re going from 80+ degrees yesterday to a shivering (I know you’re going to giggle here) 60-. LOL
I love that I can now distinguish your photos/posts from others in my Reader. I’d like to get outdoors and photograph some trees!
We’re glad that we stand out among the others especially in this very digital world we live in. It sure is wonderful being outside and in the woods. Somehow communing with nature takes us away from the world and back to basics. Have a great day.
Wonderful, rich textures! Great photograph, masterfully captured and digitized, I love this.
Thanks very much. Somehow the digitized version never seems to give a true representation of the silver gelatin but if you liked it, then we have succeeded. Have a great day.

Thanks so much Toad. Have a great week ahead. 🙂
Really like “Stump”. Lighting is great–is the light natural or did you use some fill? Also an equipment question–are your cameras medium format and do use primarily Ilford HP5? I’m pretty much a novice at film photography but keep thinking about it. Thanks–glad I found your site. David
Hi David,
Ref the”Stump”- it was all natural light. If I remember right the day was a little overcast. As far as equipment Joey uses a Mamiya 645 Pro TL, and a Yashica Mat 124G and Holga 120N. I use a Mamiya C330, Mamiya 645 Pro. All are medium format The Pro’s are 6×4.5 format and others are 6×6 format. All of these cameras are from the 70s and 80’s and all work like brand new. Our primary film is the Ilford hP5 and occasionally we shoot Ilford Fp4. I develop all the film and we print everything in our wet darkroom. Thanks again for finding our site. Any questions you might have, feel free to ask and we’ll try and answer them.
