Happy Tree Tuesday. This is the middle section of the giant oak we have taken a lot of images of. You can definitely see the line where the lightning traveled stripping this giant of its bark. It was difficult, if not impossible to control the sun flare surrounding the tree, but I don’t think it takes away from its beauty and majesty.
Taken by Marks using the Mamiya C330 Pro, 65 mm F35 black lens using Ilford HP5 developed in D76 at 1:1. We printed this on Arista EDU Ultra VCFB in Ethol LPD 1:3 and then used sepia and selenium toners to bring out the detail.
This image was scanned from the silver gelatin print.
Happy Tree Tuesday everyone. 🙂
