Here’s one that both of us feel lends itself superbly to the tanol developer we’ve been using. This is further enhanced by the use of a two bath carbon toner.
We’re not really sure what kind of tree this was when alive but in death it has taken on this amazing texture. Almost like someone carved designs into it. The tanol developer seems to outline these designs with almost pencil like precision. In addition, this stump also has beautiful form.
The silver gelatin print that this was scanned from has an almost 3D effect to it. Unfortunately the scanning to digital format doesn’t truly show how amazing this is.
