Our dear blogger friends “de Wets Wild” just reminded us that it was “World Water Day” today. So we decided we’d join them and post a couple of our “water” images to commemorate this wonderful natural resource.
Recent rains had swollen the waters in this little creek making for a lovely musical cascade over the weir.
A close up of the swirling water shows the wonderful textural quality and movement as it tumbles its way downstream.
There’s music in water. Brooks babbling, fountains splashing. Weirs, waterfalls; tumbling, gushing. There’s just nothing like the soothing sound of water. I’ve always loved this little stream that tumbles over the weirs. After the rains the flow is strong and steady like it was this day.
Both images were scanned from silver gelatin prints.Technical information including camera, film and toning processes can be found here:-
This natural resource is more than worthy of celebrating with its own special day. Happy “World Water Day 2014”
