Marks spent many hours in the darkroom yesterday trying to catch up our backlog of prints. The following was shot by him with the Yashica Mat 124G using Ilford HP5 @ 200. The Yashica Mat 124G is a lovely little medium 6×6 cm format camera. Easy to use and gives really sharp, clean images.
The covered bridge is a worthy new addition to Princess Place Preserve, giving the entrance new dynamics. From this vantage point you can look over the marshland and the waterways surrounding Princess Place Preserve. Fishing and kayaking are popular recreational pass times.
Ilford HP5 @ 200, developed in Xtol 1:1, Printed on Oriental Seagull VCFB using Ethol LPD 1:1 for 3 minutes. Enlarged at F16 at 3.3 stops #2 MG filter. Bleached back for 3 minutes, Sepia toned for 4 minutes and Selenium toned for 4 minutes.
The split toning results in the warmer tones you see in this image.
Thanks for viewing. Enjoy the rest of the day.
I love the faint whisper of clouds and the tones of the image. That one lone individual on the left really gives me a sense of scale too. This place is huge!

Thank you so much for your very nice comment. I really appreciate your thoughts. The “lone Individual” is the other half of our photography site, my lovely wife Joey. This area where we photograph-Princess Place Preserve is a wonderful area for photography. We could photograph here for years and not cover it all. Thanks again for checking out our site.
Marks and Joey
I love this image! The tones, reflections, composition, well, just everything! 🙂
And as Jana says, Joey shows the scale of this fantastic environment.
Beautiful work!
What a lovely image! I really like the sepia/selenium split tone you accomplished.
Thanks so much for your kind comment and for visiting our site.
